Many people who do not follow the Zambian Super League mistakenly think that players who play their club football in Zambia do not get more than US$ 200 a month and a coach can't get more than US$ 400 per month.

This is very common topic one is likely to encounter when visiting a Zambian pub to watch an English Premier League or La Liga game. As I witnessed yesterday, fans were arguing that players who play in Zambia do not get more than US$80 and that is winning bonus and none of them get salaries.

On the contrary the Zambian Super League has players who earn US$ 2,500 and more. If a coach who is in the lower divisions of Zambian football can earn US$ 1,800 what about some of the top tier coaches? Players and coaches in Zambian are much better paid than people think.
